- Day 1
Arrive in Kiruna
Transfer to a lodge on Lake Torneträsk. First cast after dinner, in full daylight.
- Day 2
Fly-fishing school
Casting, knots, and reading water on the Abisko river with a local guide.
- Day 3
Into the backcountry
Hike out to a string of remote lakes. Tent camp, arctic char, and a fire.
- Day 4
Grayling on the river
Wade the rapids for grayling. Lunch is whatever you caught, cooked on the bank.
- Day 5
The midnight session
Canoe to the far shore and fish from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The sun just circles.
- Day 6
Nuolja and the sauna
Hike Nuolja for the view, then a wood-fired sauna and a plunge in the lake.
- Day 7
Fly home
Hopefully smoked char in your bag and a sleep schedule to fix.
